The new Simpson front door is accented with bullseye glass panels to instantly add age and character. Brass accents are used throughout to add age and interest. A black Aga stove adds instant character and anchors the space with its custom hood above. A three light pendant from Schoolhouse Electric hangs over the island. At the left, a large modern painting by artist Kimberly Moore is right at home. On the opposite wall (not shown here) of the enlarged and modernized kitchen, a pair of column fridge and freezer are topped with a collection of favorite cookbooks and decorative objects. The antique flame mahogany chest of drawers was found at a local estate sale in Salisbury, Connecticut, and lovingly restored by Stair Restoration in Hudson, NY. A grouping of oil paintings sit atop the chest with a cut glass sapphire blue lamp. A pair of gold leaf magnifying sconces flank the vintage Italian water-gilt oval mirror.
